A Tuscan Summer: Alin & Manuel at Il Salotto

There’s a particular kind of light that only exists in Tuscany in summer — golden, slow, almost suspended. It settles over the vines just before evening and turns everything it touches into something soft and inevitable. It was in this light that Alin and Manuel said their vows on a terrace overlooking the hills of Il Salotto, surrounded by people who love them, and by rows and rows of grapevines that seemed to lean in to listen too.

This is the story of their day.

The Quiet Before

Mornings like this move differently. There’s laughter in one room and a kind of focused silence in another — the particular calm of people getting ready for something that matters. Alin’s dress, by Brautgeflüster, hung waiting in the soft Tuscan light, while Juwelier Hommömödling’s rings sat ready on a windowsill, catching the morning sun.

“It’s in these small, unstaged moments — a hand smoothing fabric, a deep breath before the mirror — that a wedding day truly begins.”

Hair and makeup by Julia Schwaiger turned nerves into glow, and by the time Manuel slipped into his suit from Gertspezial — wherever that handle leads — the day had already found its rhythm.

Vows Among the Vines

There are ceremony spaces, and then there is this: a stone terrace at Il Salotto Wines & Resort, open to the hills, with nothing between the couple and the view but air. Freie Reden Salzburg led the ceremony with words that felt personal rather than performed — the kind of officiating that makes guests forget they’re “at a wedding” and remember instead that they’re witnessing something real.

The flowers and styling, by Mydekostories with rentals from Oh Yes Event Design, didn’t compete with the landscape — they extended it. Soft, sun-bleached tones that looked like they’d grown there themselves.

A small, handmade touch carried quietly through the day: an embroidered handkerchief from Nadelspitze, tucked away as something old, something borrowed, something held close.

An Afternoon at the Table

By afternoon, the terrace had transformed again — long tables dressed in the same soft palette, set beneath the open sky. The paper goods from Paperberry Design added small, considered details to every place setting — the kind of thing guests notice without quite knowing why it feels so right.

There’s something about eating outdoors, in golden daylight, surrounded by vineyards, that slows a celebration down in the best way. Conversations stretch. Glasses get refilled without anyone noticing. Time, for a few hours, stops being something to manage.

Golden Hour Over the Vineyards

And then — the light.

If there’s one set of images that holds the heart of this entire day, it’s these. Alin and Manuel, alone for the first time since the morning, walking out into the vineyards as the sun dropped low over the hills. No program, no guests, no schedule — just the two of them, the vines, and that particular Tuscan gold settling over everything.

This is the moment every wedding day quietly builds toward, even if no one says it out loud: a few minutes of stillness, just for the two people at the center of it all. Out here, with Il Salotto’s rolling vineyards stretching toward the horizon, it felt less like a “couple shoot” and more like a breath — the first real one of the whole day.

As Night Fell

When the sun finally disappeared behind the hills, the terrace transformed once more. The same tables that had glowed gold in the afternoon now flickered with candlelight, the vineyard fading into silhouette behind them.

A second couple shoot under the night sky gave Alin and Manuel one more quiet moment together — this time lit not by the sun, but by string lights and candle glow, the vineyard now just a dark outline against a deep blue sky.

Sparkles and the Last of the Night

And then, the ending every Tuscan wedding deserves: sparklers held high, light trails cutting through the dark, and Alin and Manuel walking through it all — out of the ceremony, the dinner, the dancing, and into the rest of their life together.
